Why Schools Choose Us

Insurance that keeps up with the season

School coverage has to work through enrollment shifts, new programs, and route changes, not just at renewal.

Written for education

Coverage responds to how districts and schools actually operate, including the board decisions that generate most claims.

Built around your programs

Enrollment, transportation, athletics, and facility use each shape what the program needs to cover.

Local help through the year

Certificates, facility agreements, and coverage questions handled by advisors who know your district.

Who We Work With

Built for schools of every kind

The same practical approach works across public and private education, from single-building schools to districts running transportation and athletics.

Know Before The Year Starts

Make sure your coverage matches the obligation

School obligations come from state law, from the State Education Department, and from the agreements you sign with leagues and facility users.

Student data under Education Law 2-d

New York sets specific obligations around student data protection and breach notification. A district has to be able to fund that response regardless of who hosts the data

Transportation and driver requirements

Owned buses, contracted routes, and driver qualifications all shape what the auto program has to cover, and a contracted route does not remove the district from the picture

Facility use and athletic agreements

Outside groups and leagues set required limits and additional insured status. The agreement is what makes those requirements enforceable

Understanding Your Premium

What actually moves your insurance cost

School premiums are built from enrollment, programs, and facilities. The more accurately those details are represented, the easier it is to make sure you are paying for the right risk.

Student population

The base figure nearly every line of a school program rates from.

Staff and payroll

Teachers, aides, custodial staff, and coaches each carry different classification.

Claims and loss experience

Employment and educators liability claims sit longest on a school program.

Athletics and activities

Contact sports and off-site programs price differently than classroom exposure.

Transportation

Owned buses, contracted routes, and driver experience all factor into commercial auto pricing.

Buildings and square footage

Age, construction, and protection systems carry both property and environmental weight.

Before You Renew

A better premium often starts with better information.

We review enrollment, staffing, route structure, facility use agreements, and property values before assuming the answer is simply another carrier.

Good To Know

Public & Private Education insurance FAQs

Quick answers to common questions from New York schools and districts.
At minimum: public entity liability, educators legal liability for the board and administration, workers’ compensation and DBL, and commercial auto on district vehicles. Most districts add cyber, umbrella, and property coverage for buildings and technology.
It does not mandate a policy, but it sets obligations around student data and notification that a district has to be able to fund. Cyber liability is how most districts cover that response.
Paid coaches sit under workers’ compensation like any other employee. Volunteers depend on how the district has structured coverage, which is worth confirming before a season starts.
Their own coverage, with the district named on it. The facility use agreement is what makes that enforceable, and we can tell you what to require in it.
