From fender benders to whiteouts

Auto coverage protects you and your family when the road does not go as planned.

A whiteout on Route 3 ends in a chain-reaction collision.

Collision coverage repairs your vehicle; liability protects you from the rest.

A deer steps out at dusk.

Comprehensive coverage handles animal strikes, glass, and theft.

An uninsured driver runs a light and hits you.

Uninsured motorist coverage steps in when the other driver cannot pay.

What Auto Insurance Covers

A New York auto policy combines coverages the state requires with the ones experience recommends:

Liability

Injuries and damage you cause to others. NY requires it; serious accidents demand more than the minimum.

No-fault (PIP)

Your own medical costs and lost wages after an accident, regardless of fault.

Collision

Repairs to your vehicle after an accident.

Comprehensive

Theft, glass, fire, and the deer that did not look both ways.

Uninsured and underinsured motorist

Protection when the other driver has too little coverage or none.

Extras

Roadside assistance, rental reimbursement, and new-car replacement.

Who Needs Auto Insurance Coverage

Every New York driver needs coverage, and carriers price the same driver very differently, which makes comparing worthwhile.

Every New York driver

Coverage is required to register and drive.

Households with teen drivers

Rates and limits both deserve a fresh look.

Long commuters

Miles change both the risk and the price.

Drivers with assets to protect

State minimums do not survive a serious accident.

Pair your auto policy with home insurance for a multi-policy discount, and consider a personal umbrella for the worst case.

Need a certificate of insurance fast?

We issue certificates quickly, because a slow certificate can cost you the job. We'll take care of it.

What New York requires

Every registered vehicle in New York must carry liability coverage of at least $25,000 per person and $50,000 per accident for bodily injury, $10,000 for property damage, plus $50,000 in no-fault personal injury protection and matching uninsured motorist coverage. Those numbers are the legal floor, not a recommendation: a single ambulance ride and emergency room visit can pass the PIP limit, and one serious injury can pass the liability limits entirely, with everything above them coming from you. Most of the drivers we insure carry substantially more, often paired with a personal umbrella for the worst case.

What actually lowers your rate

Bundling with your homeowners policy, telematics programs that reward how you actually drive, good student discounts, and New York’s approved defensive driving course, which earns a rate reduction that lasts three years. The biggest lever is still carrier selection: the same household can price hundreds of dollars apart between companies, which is the whole point of quoting several at once instead of renewing on autopilot.

Round out the picture

If your entity has a board, a budget, and a public mission, we have a program shape for it.

Auto

Your vehicles and everyone who drives them.

Personal Umbrella

An extra million above your auto limits when a bad accident goes past them.

Recreational Vehicle

Sleds, boats, and ATVs need their own coverage.

Auto Insurance FAQs

Quick answers to common questions from New York drivers.
Legally yes, practically rarely. State minimums do not survive a serious accident, and everything above them comes out of your pocket. Higher limits cost less than most drivers expect, especially paired with an umbrella.
Driving history, vehicle, mileage, location, credit-based insurance score, and the carrier’s own appetite. That last one is why identical drivers get very different quotes, and why we shop several carriers instead of one.
Yes, under comprehensive, not collision, which matters for your deductible. Around here that is not a hypothetical; it is a when.
Minutes. Start your quote online and compare real rates from multiple carriers, then buy online or finish with a local advisor, whichever you prefer.
